Connectors
Google Calendar and Drive: connecting with limited permissions, giving the agent access to a file or calendar, attaching to spaces, and errors.

What the agent can do
- Drive, Docs and Sheets: list and download files, create documents, read and write spreadsheets, upload results to the space's Drive folder.
- Calendar: list events, check free time and book meetings in a calendar that was shared with the agent.
Access and on whose behalf
Connecting Google in the dashboard requests only limited permissions: events Octo created, and files Octo created or you opened through it. It does not grant access to your whole calendar or your whole Drive.
The agent works with existing files and calendars through Octo's service account. To open a file, folder or calendar to the agent, share it with this address:
How to connect
- Open Integrations, Google, tick Calendar and/or Drive and click Connect.
- Allow access at Google.
- Share the files, folders or calendar the agent should work with with the service account. For a calendar, tell the agent its calendar ID.
Spaces
The Google connection belongs to your account, not to a space. Drive work in a space is controlled by the Google Drive capability on the Settings tab of the status page. Files the agent uploads go into that space's folder.
Troubleshooting
- The agent cannot see a file or folder
- Share it with the service account and give the agent the file link or ID.
- An upload to a shared folder is refused (403)
- The service account has no storage quota in other people's folders. The agent uploads to the space's folder; you can move files from there.
- "This calendar is connected to another user"
- The calendar is already bound to someone else. Use a separate calendar.
